Our monthly meeting with a few extra women this month!
This months meeting was one with a few extra ladies!
There were so many people at this event, we had to add more tables and chairs to it! There was a real hustle and bustle of conversations, laughter and everything that a business meeting should feel like. The feel of the room wasn’t too dissimilar to a family event opposed to a business networking meeting. David Ings started the proceedings by knocking the side of his cup, reasonably hard, in order for people to actually here the ‘ding’ that suggests that the meeting is about to commence. David suggested that everyone had a few seconds or so to explain who they are, what they do and how they may be able to help. A little trick you’ll find quite common at most networking events as it allows the audience to figure out who they might want to go and have a chat with, without having to talk to everyone.
Food was prepared by The White Hart hotels excellent chefs, with leftovers going spare if anyone was still feeling a bit peckish.
There was no official speaker at this particular event, which, in actual fact, was a good thing. It allowed everyone to socialise and network in a very relaxed manner and presented more time for everyone to get to know one another a little bit better.
Many thanks to Andrea Barry (president of Andover women in Business) and Sue Risdale (Vice president of Andover Women in Business and AMBG member) and Adam Phillips (Members secretary for AMBG) who arranged the meeting, on behalf of both groups. We’d also like to thank Mr Mark Leech, the owner of The White Hart Hotel, for allowing us to use his premises and for being so flexible with the addition of tables/chairs and ultimately breakfasts - great service, we will definitely be using The White Hart again for another business function.
